HEARTBREAK AFTER 5 WEEKS! KARINA AESPA AND ACTOR LEE JAE WOOK PART WAYS OVER INTERNET BULLYING

Karina Aespa and Actor Lee Jae Wook are confirmed to have ended their relationship after 5 weeks of dating. The news was confirmed by both agencies on April 2. TenAsia (2/4/2024) reported that the couple's breakup was due to negative comments from citizens.

Both Agencies Confirmed

C-JeS Studios, Lee Jae Wook's agency has confirmed that the end of his romantic relationship with Karina is to focus on his filming projects. The agency further confirmed that the two, Lee Jae Wook and Karina, will continue to be coworkers and support each other. 

"Actor Lee Jae Wook decided to end the relationship to focus on filming the project he is working on, both will remain good coworkers and support each other," said a representative of C-Jes Studios, as reported by SPOTV News.

Meanwhile, SM Entertainment, the agency that holds Karina Aespa, has confirmed the news of the idol's breakup with actor Lee Jae Wook. However, unlike C-JeS Studios, Lee Jae Wook's agency, SM Entertainment didn't explain the reasons behind the breakup.

"It's true that they have broken up," SM Entertainment said, as reported by Ilgan Sports.

Breaking Up Due to Netizen Pressure

Although C-JeS Studios did not mention any other reasons behind the breakup, some South Korean media suspected that Lee Jae Wook and Karina Aespa's breakup was due to mental and emotional pressure from netizens' malicious comments.

Breaking Up News 5 Weeks After Going Public

The news of Lee Jae Wook and Karina Aespa's breakup came about five weeks after the two were confirmed to be dating on February 27, 2024. Their agency officially confirmed their relationship after Dispatch released photos of them dating.

The news was met with mixed comments from netizens. However, many netizens also made negative and unconfirmed comments regarding their relationship. This allegedly made Lee Jae Wook and Karina feel depressed and guilty to fans.

Karina Aespa Wrote an Apology Letter

In response to netizens' negative comments, Karina Aespa wrote an apology letter to fans on March 5, 2024. In her letter, Karina claimed to be aware of fans' disappointment over the news of her relationship with Lee Jae Wook.

Agency's Firm Steps

In response to netizens' malicious comments, both Lee Jae Wook and Karina Aespa's agencies have warned that they will take firm steps. On February 29, 2024, Lee Jae Wook through his agency stated that he would take firm steps against anyone who made malicious comments and hoaxes about his personal life.

Shockingly, SM Entertainment today (12/04/2024) announced that Aespa member, Winter, officially underwent pneumothorax commonly called collapse lung surgery.
