Next Level (2021): From the video that appeared alongside this song, Aespa continues their fight with the "Black Mamba". It is said that they are assisted by an avatar who becomes their portal into a virtual world called NAEVIS. In this battle, they aim to reach KOSMO, the point where they finally deflect the "Black Mamba". In addition, from this NEXT LEVEL song, many new terms are introduced such as FLAT (where the AE lives in KWANGYA), P.O.S. / Port Of Soul (soul portal that connects FLAT with the real world), and many more.
Savage (2021): This song takes the Aespa into a fierce battle against the BLACK MAMBA. It is said that they were hallucinated by BLACK MAMBA, but with strength, determination, and help from NAEVIS, they will not give up in this fight because they are strong and savage.
Girls (2022): Their world seems to have been destroyed by BLACK MAMBA. In this song, Aespa faces a climactic battle against BLACK MAMBA after their connection with AE is cut off. It is said that Aespa believes that no matter how tough the fight is, they will not be defeated because they have become stronger to save AE and KWANGYA who have been destroyed. The song is full of action and emotion, with the Aespa having to learn to work together to save their world.
Connecting SM Entertainment Sci-Fi Universe
Aespa's concept is not just a visual gimmick but is part of SM Entertainment's complex Sci-Fi Universe story connected through KWANGYA. Every song lyric, music video, and online content reveals the mystery of KWANGYA that continues to evolve.
More interestingly, SM Entertainment has expanded Aespa's sci-fi concept by connecting it with other SM artists' virtual worlds. KWANGYA, the universe or dimension where Aespa's story is set, was first introduced through Aespa's song Black Mamba. Since then, more and more songs from SM artists have used the term such as in NCT U's "90's Love" and EXO's "Don't Fight the Feeling".
This connection also connects Aespa with SMCU or SM Culture Universe, SM Entertainment's alternative universe whose stories are told through the songs of its idols. Quoted from the kumparan that is quoted from koreaboo, Aespa is the first group in the SMCU project. The project appears in a 10-minute web series whose first episode features Aespa and Black Mamba as the main cast. From the web series, fans are shown that each member of SMTOWN (all artists under SM Entertainment) has their own role in KWANGYA which is interconnected with each other.
